Ingress filtering - a technique used to make sure that incoming packets are actually from the networks that they claim to be from.

Multihoming - computer or device connected to more than one computer network. It can be used, for example, to increase the reliability of an Internet Protocol network, such as a user served by more than one Internet service provider.

Multihoming can also add to costs, including:

   Upfront cost: search, initial investment, training
   Ongoing cost: membership fees, maintenance cost
   Exit cost: salvage value of hardware or software, termination costs
